New Reservoir Covers

One of the things that has been bothering me about the Monster is that the black parts just aren’t black enough. The master cylinder for both the front brake and clutch are faded from the sun and etched from the corrosive fluid. Luckily, I found some anodized billeted aluminum coffin covers from http://carbon-trader.com/

Mini Gauges, Shiny Bar Clamps, Radial Master Cylinder, Oh My

Finally I’m posting some photos of my modified front end. I’m not even half way done, but it’s looking sweeter everyday, and the performance is much improved. The speedo is the proper 2240:60 ratio and the tach is 20:3 ratio, sometimes referred to as 1:7. The bar clamps are made by Carpy, and the radial master cylinder is off a 2008 Honda CBR600RR.

These are some gorgeous little gauges and the look even better next to each other.

Fresh stainless steel bolts on everything.

The reservoir sits perfectly level now. I’m so happy.

Carpy’s Aluminum Handle Bar Clamps

IMG_6068.JPG

I picked these up from Old Bike Barn. It seems Carpy is no longer selling them or he ran out because the link to these is not on his site’s store. They are quite nice and surprisingly light, I’m almost afraid they are little too light, gonna look good though. Tomorrow I’ll post picks of the new speedo / tacho / bar clamps. Still trying to figure out which master cylinder I’m going to get.
